The Winfield Recreation Commission @winfieldrec2160 is hosting a Vintage Baseball game this Sunday, June 4th at 1:00 PM at the Winfield Fairgrounds! Bring the family and your lawn chairs, enjoy a free hotdog meal and watch the Emporia Vintage Baseball Team take on a Winfield team full of familiar faces!

The Eagle Nest Inc @eagle_nest_inc Indoor Market & Craft Show will be going on at the same time under the grandstands! Fun for the whole family!

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

1. No signs or banners are allowed in the photograph.
2. Leave your pets at home.
3. The road closure will begin at 9:30 AM - so if you would like to have your vehicle parked along the parade route you must have it in place BEFORE the road closure. Then, you will not be able to move it until the conclusion of the grand parade.

We are hoping to fill 9th Avenue for at least a couple blocks so bring your whole family!

Stick around after the Grand Parade on Saturday and hear from our Winfield dignitaries - and whom many of our streets were named after! The Cowley County Historical Society Museum will have their Voices from the Past Reenactors stationed downtown to give oral histories of some of our most famous past Winfield residents including: Col. E.C. Manning, W.P. Hackney, Adelaide Baden, Sue Jean Covacevich, William Newton, Captain Hugh Siverd, J.C. Fuller, and H.T. Trice .

Island Park was once home to the Winfield Chautauq

Island Park was once home to the Winfield Chautauqua - an event where folks would travel from miles away to camp, learn, worship, and have fellowship.

One week from today on the last day of our Winfield 150 Celebration Weekend on Sunday, June 4th, we hope to fill the park again.

At 3:00 PM, Winfield Area Habitat for Humanity will host their annual garden party in Island Park complete with vintage tea-time desserts and beverages. Tickets are $30 suggested donation and can be purchased at the chamber office, 123 E. 9th Ave.

At 5:00 PM, Winfield churches have collaborated to have a Community Worship Service at the Island Park Performance Venue. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy some spiritual uplifting with your neighbors.

We are one week away from the Winfield Sesquicente

We are one week away from the Winfield Sesquicentennial GRAND PARADE! The parade will take place on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00 AM on Main Street from 7th to 17th Avenue.

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
1. The roads will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 9:45 AM because we are taking a community photograph at 10:00 AM. If you would like to have a vehicle parked along the parade route to watch the parade from - you must get it in place before the road closure and you will not be able to move it until the parade is over.

2. This will truly be a grand parade, which means it will likely be long so pack accordingly! Bring a chair, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, the works.

3. After the community photograph is taken at 10:00 AM, Dillons Food Store will be serving Winfield's 150th birthday cake in front of the old Sears store! Stop by and grab a piece! Also, RCB Bank will have free ice cream in front of their building at 900 Main!

4. Directly after the conclusion of the parade, Cowley County Historical Society Museum will have their Voices from the Past historic reenactors positioned downtown giving oral histories of some of the town's founders and important former residents. Stop by RCB Bank for a map or you can also find a google map link on our website (link in bio).

5. Also following the conclusion of the parade, the Vintage Car Cruise participants will be at Island Park for folks to check out the cars up close and there will also be food vendors at the park ready to serve!

We can't wait to see all the wonderful floats and vehicles and see Main Street full of people like in these historic photographs of past parades!

The kick-off to the Winfield's 150 Celebration Weekend will be an old-fashioned carnival in Island Park 6:30-8:30 PM!

The Winfield Recreation Commission will be handing out free ice cream, plus a few other organizations will have popcorn and snow cones!

Bring the family out for lots of fun games and prizes, plus a raffle for multiple baskets full of great local stuff!

Cindy Goertz was named "Mrs. Winfield" for her dedication to community service through the years and her important work with the Cowley County Historical Society Museum. The chamber also honored Gloria Ulbrich for her love of Winfield history and her hard work in helping plan Winfield's 150th Celebration.

The chamber recognized all the 2022 Chamber Champions: Main St Skate, LLC @mainstskatellc , Walnut Valley Outpost @walnutvalleyoutpost , Main Street Games LLC @mainstgames, Winfield Housing Authority Winfield Housing Authority , and Winfield Iron & Metal (not pictured).

Main St Skate, LLC was named the 2022 Chamber Champion of the Year as voted on by the chamber membership!
